VGMA 2020: Diana Hamilton, Celestine Donkor Emerge Winners

Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for the year 2020 eventually took place due to the results of COVID-19 after questions regarding the event remaining this year. The award ceremony was held on August 28th & 29th and was divided into three parts, with some primary notable segments witnessed annually omitted due to the peculiarity of some considered health factors. This year’s edition was broadcast live to viewers and saw famous Ghanaian gospel artists win awards in major categories.
Gospel songstress Celestine Donkor has challenged the odds as she also emerges “Female Vocalist of the Year” from a group that includes Ghanaian household female singers across various genres; Efya, Becca, Efe Grace, Adina, and Lamisi. The mother of three also bagged her inspiring single “Agbeblolo,” featuring Nhyiraba Gideon, for the “Gospel Song of the Year” award.
Multi-octave and versatile artist Diana Hamilton has been named “Gospel Artiste of the Year” 2020 as she is bagging the VGMA Award for the second consecutive time in that category. The beloved songstress emerged top of the nomination list alongside other household names such as Joe Mettle, MogMusic, Joyce Blessing, Akesse Brempong, and Celestine Donkor.
Popularly known as MOG, Nana Yaw Boakye wasn’t left out because he also bagged a major award as the “Male Vocalist of the Year” 2020 by VGMA.
