Jekalyn Carr is the first gospel musician to be inducted into the Women’s Songwriters Hall of Fame
Jekalyn Carr, a multi-award winner, was recognized at the Women’s Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards last week in Washington, DC.
Carr, the first Gospel musician to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, was honored at a high-profile ceremony hosted by Jody Watley at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Carr’s major contributions to the gospel genre, as well as her ongoing ability to inspire and encourage people via her songs, have earned her this distinction.
Carr is undeniably one of the best young gospel performers, as evidenced by her steady sales and broadcast success. Jekalyn has six hits in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay list and four Number 1 singles, the most recent of which being “Changing Your Story,” all before the age of 21. Jekalyn is a four-time Grammy nominee as well as a Stellar and Dove Award winner.
The rising talent was also just announced as Tye Tribbett’s co-host for the 36th Annual Stellar Awards. The Stellar Awards, held on July 10 in Nashville, are considered gospel music’s greatest night!
