Armed robbers have targeted Bishop Mike Moses, former Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), inflicting grievous body injuries on him.
Sources close to the clergyman told our reporter that in the wee hours of Wednesday, God’s man was targeted at his Yola home.
The assault on the ex-CAN chairman has marked a series of such assaults on innocent people by armed men.
According to the source, when they entered his building, the gunmen stabbed the Christian Clergy and took valuables from him that had no money on him.
The source said if they don’t get money on their next visit, the armed men threatened to kill the Bishop!
In recent past, state capital residents, particularly Yola, have protested about the underworld men’s heightened night-attacks.
An Anguwar Magaji resident Malam Saidu Sada said his area has been the target of such attacks in the last week.
“About a week ago, such hoodlums bearing dangerous weapons have carried out night attacks and inflicted bodily injuries on many residents.
“They entered about 5 houses in the area beat up the residents and in some cases inflict matchet cuts on them,” he said.
Efforts to speak to the picture maker of the Adamawa State Police command about the topic before going to press were futile as he picked calls and also failed to answer SMS messages.
