When you pray, you expect to receive an answer, right?
I know I do.
As a Christian wife, there are many other things I could be doing if I knew my prayers weren’t working:
Studying the word, singing worship music, washing, cleaning, or spending time with my family.
However, I know that prayer works, so that’s why I do it on a consistent basis.
I believe that many Christian wives don’t pray often because of the fear of saying the wrong thing or making a mistake, in addition to not really believing that prayer will actually work.
Yes, there are many things that can make prayer ineffective and unmeaningful, both to you and God.
But here is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when you pray: Not praying in the name of Jesus!
Hear me clearly on this mistake: Praying in the name of Jesus is like signing on the dotted line. God has given you the power of Attorney to use the name of Jesus. Everything must bow under the name of Jesus. But when you don’t pray in the name of Jesus, you are saying your prayers based on you and your power, not on God’s power.
As a Christian wife, here’s what this means if you make this mistake: You are in jeopardy of not getting your prayers answered because praying in any other name cannot guarantee an answered prayer.
Everyone needs to understand this is key because if you don’t when you come to God, He sees through His Son, so when you don’t come in the name of Jesus, you are saying that you come to Him in your own power. Is that really good enough to get your prayers answered?
My advice at this point to avoid this mistake is to Pray in the name of Jesus because His name carries power and weight that the average person is not qualified to carry. Praying in the name of Jesus tells God and Satan that you are serious about what you’re saying to Him.
Once you understand the facts about prayer you can move forward with confidence. And understanding how to avoid this mistake is a great start for any Christian wife!
But as you can see, this really is just the tip of the iceberg.
